I felt on top of the world this week. Every thing was going my way. Matt and I were totally in synch, Ashley is having a terrific time at school and work at the bank is starting to feel more comfortable.
Nothing could have broken my stride, that is, until I came face to face with Nina Birbiglia. Nina was the "it" girl in school. Always the perfect weight, hair, wardrobe, boyfriend and to really piss me off she was nice! Well she strolls into the bank yesterday with her two adorable and perfectly behaved children. She must have started working out on the delivery table because there was no evidence at all she’d been pregnant. She looked the exact way she did as a cheerleader. I’ll be trying to lose baby weight as the mother of the bride. She was so calm and organized. No cheerios spilling out of her purse as she digs through in search of her deposit slip. She was in total control. Why is it some gals just roll through life effortlessly and the ones like me hit every bump and snag along the way?
It wasn’t until she turned to leave I noticed her skirt tucked into the back of her pantyhose. I let her go with no warning. Because I’m mean? No. Because every once in a while you have to allow the universe to balance itself out!
