I am a Special Education Teacher with a Masters, worked as an insevice coordinator, am a Nurse and worked at private schools with Profound and Exceptional Children.

One common thread is that 96 per cent of my parents with autistic students did not notice a developemental delay untit after their vacinnations esp MMR.

We cannot say this does not exist because people are different and do react to situations.

In 1996, I went to a workshop at the Chicogo Brain Instiitute and several pediatric neuroscientists presented research supporting this theory.

There is much out there on this subject and the pharmacuetical companies do not want it known.

I believe a certain population of autistic children due have this as a trigger and others have had another trigger.

Autism or PPD is it is now known covers a multitude of symptoms.

The main thing you can do is to intervene early, provide specialized care, and get rest for yourselves and your families.

Know your resources and LD online, Council for exceptionall Children, and the Autism associations are are helpful.

Structured Teach is an approach that is very helpful teaching Autistic children and you can attend the educational workshops along with the teachers in your school didtrict.

Ask the school officials to sign you up so that you know and also learn what is being taugh to your children. Each disttict has a apecialist, ask for them to visit and set your home up for effective teaching and be sure to let your teachers know what helps your child.

There are early intervention programs 0 to three then then school district takes over so there are resources avallable everywhere.

I was just watching the late night program tonight and saw Jenney and thought I would post . Good Luck, parents.

I have done a lot of research on this topic. There is no conclusive evidence that vaccines are linked to autism. What really is going on, is that right about the time vaccines changed they widened the autism spectrim. This means that LOTS more kids were diagnosed as having autism that previously were diagnosed as having something else. It is just a coincidence that the two happened at the same time. Autism has such a wide range now, so it looks like TONS more kids have it now, than in previous years, but really it is just that very mild cases are reported, so it looks bad. There is a lot of info out there, really you should talk to your pedi doc and see if s/he has a good website or book.
