I found the best website to go to it is wahm.com there are all kinds of jobs and posts. check it out! I have done passion parties, markay, melueca and some others. I found this site very helpful because it has discussions with people that acutally work for some of the jobs. Look at all the work at home mom sites as well as work from home mom sites. Dont pay for anything unless u have read both the ups and downs about it. With the selling items and travel agents u had better be prepared to had out flyers and talk with a lot of people (warm market) and dont give up. For every 10 nos you get that one yes may lead you to payday! Have fun and I hope I have helped someone out.

I'm not from the USA but from Canada, have any of you considered being a day home provider?? A day home provider is someone that is like a day care provider only with that, in Canada at any rate, we are allowed only 6 children in your own home including you're own. The pay is actually quite good, I've been doing it for a few years now, there are advancements within the field and you get to stay at home play with not only your children but with other children as well. Why would that be such a bad career right?? You get to spend endless amounts of time with your own children but you also get to help out with the upbringing of other children and watch them grow and develop as well. Mine are older now but they absolutely love me being home and my day home children are just wonderful, they all have their own little personalities. I see lots of posts for the corporate sector, however, if you love children that much, why not make a career out of it?? If you can't beat them, join them! There are LOTS of parents looking for care for their children so this is a field that's not going to die out any time soon. Just an idea to add to all the other ones out there.

What a great story! I'm new to the boards and while not a mom myself, I am looking for ideas to help my three sisters (and numerous friends), who all have kids... Thanks for sharing this. It's nice to hear about moms who are leaving the corporate world to spend more time with their kids, even though in some ways it's a sacrifice, in the long run, your child will surely thank you and be better off for it!

I worked in the corporate world before I had my two boys. I became a stay-at-home Mom after my second was born. Now that he is two, I was looking to do something part time. I have been with a Stationery Company for 6 months selling invitations, announcements, and personalized products from my home. We are a small company made up of Moms who want to work part time. We are looking to add more Sales Reps. I don't feel like I am really "selling" anything. The products are so great...I am just filling a need. We all need birth announcements, Christmas cards, and party invitations. Sales have been great and my customer base continues to grown through word of mouth. Please check out www.theprintsandthepaper.net if you are interested in learning more. We would love to have motivated Moms with big social networks on our team!

I am new to the site and LOVE it! I am also a Premier Designs Independent Jeweler and LOVE it too! A great company out of Dallas with thousands of independent reps. NOT a pyramid scheme - but a company built by Biblical principles, service and love. You get out of it what you put into it. I have been with the company about 3 years and when I do 2-3 homeshows a month I make alot of additional family income. My husband is in real estate and in today's market that money is crucial to our family (2 boys 5,2) If anybody would like more info, please contact me or the Premier Designs website: www.premierdesigns.com. The jewelry is beautiful, almost sells itself and I've also made some great new friends. I make 50% of the retail, get out of the house and my husband gets quality "man time" with the kids.

I would like to get as much info as possible about work at home opportunities! I have worked in the corporate world for three years now. At first it wasn't so bad my office was 15 minutes from my son. Now I am 50-55 minutes away due to my office being shut down. Between my boyfriend and I we have 3 boys (4, 10 and 11) it would be awesome if I could stay at home so he could focus on his new career. If anyone has info they can send to me please let me know!!

I worked in the corporate world as an engineer until 2.5 years ago. I am a proud mother of 3 small children -- just turned 5 last week, 3.5, and 15 months -- and found that I just needed to be home. At first I didn't do anything -- but decided that just getting out a little would be great. So first, I found a tutoring job -- and I do that just a few nights a week. Then -- after saying I'd never do any direct marketing companies -- became an Usborne Books consultant. I truly believe in the product -- and they are a great company and don't act like it is a get rich quick kind of thing. It is actually very rewarding -- because it isn't just home shows. The awesome part about this business and company is that you also get to work with preschools, and the school and library market. It makes the job feel really professional while still working from home and it so rewarding being able to bring the gift of reading to so many kids! Anyway, if anyone is interested in more information - you can check out my website at www.usborneontheweb.com. Erica

I have been a stay at home mom for 3 years now. I never imagined I would quit working to stay at home, but once I held my beautiful daugher for the first time, I knew it would be difficult to go back to work. Needless to say, 2 months later I quit my full time job to stay at home. Now I have 2 children, both 3 years old. Their 4 months apart (and both are adopted). Now I'm in the process of starting my own home based business as a referring travel agent. You don't need experience. If anyone is interested I can send you information.
